I use the drip method. Total time about 45 minutes to an hour.

15 minutes of floating the bag for temp and then a 45-60 minute drip acclimation, followed by a 5 minute coral (iodine) dip.

I float the bag like for 15 min, then add 1/4 c tank water every 10 min for 45 min, then an iodine dip for 5 min. 1 liter of tank water with 20 drops of Tincture of Iodine; rinse with tank water, and place in tank. I do not add calcium during acclimation. I would think it's not a good idea as it would affect your ph in your acclimation vessel. Vessel?

I don't quarantine any corals and I really haven't had any problems in that respect.

From what I have heard you should atleast do the dip on corals, it would be foolish to not dip a coral and then kill all your other corals. Just my 2 cents though

Agreed, Jeremy. Corals are like boxed chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get! I have a lugol's solution dip for mine, acclimate then dip for 10 minutes.

Ideally, everyone would place new corals in a q-tank, but since most people don't have a q-tank that has never had any medication put into it and strong lights over it, most people don't quarantine new corals. Because of not quarantining new corals, it is highly recommended that all new corals get a iodine dip to help minimize your risk of getting LRB, flatworms, etc... into your tank and wrecking havoc to your tank and/or corals.
