Default Green Star Polyp help??

Hi all
Everything has been going great in my 55 gal tank into my 3rd month and everything is great. Just did my water change this month on Wednesday and now my star polyp frag wont open. Its been 2 days now and he has not opened it was doing great until then. My water is fine I tested it, the salt is a little low 1.022-23 and I did my Iodine addition so that should be good too. The only thing I did do was add some marine putty onto the stone base of the polyp to stick it to the LR as my snail kept knocking it off. But so far no little polyps are coming out. Is it dying? Did I do something wrong? Everything else in the tank is very happy and healthy. The lighting is great nothing else has changed at all. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Evan

It might have been the putty. You could always do another small water change and see if that helps anything...at least a water change will not hurt anything.

ok pried off the putty and did a small water change and still no change. How long can a coral remain closed up? Are they picky enough that it could just die from that?

I have a very big piece of the green star polyps and it has been out ever since i put it into the tank.( like a year) 5 days ago it didn't come out and hasn't until yesterday and still isn't out all the way. I have other pieces of this coral in other places in the tank and its doing fine its just the big rock covered in it that's not doing much. I think its shedding and will come back out all the way very soon. I would keep an eye on it and if it starts to deteriorate than it might be dying. I would just wait a few more days and see what happens.

Hmmm.
What water test kits are you using? What all did you test for? I've done a little reading. Where is it placed in your tank? Has its flow been disrupted? What other sessile invertebrates are around it? How long have you had this frag?

I have no idea what took it soooo long but it was closed for over a week! Unless it was sneaking open for a few min here and there when I wasnt looking. The tank is really starting to come along will post picts soon.

Mine is doing the same thing....It was fine for about a month after I bought it, now it is closed up and staying that way going on it's 2nd day today. I have some button polyps, a brain and some mushrooms that are doing fine. I hope mine will open up again soon.
