Default ID please

I thought this was a zoo frag (per the clerks advice). I do not however see anything in my book like it. Could someone tell me what this is, and also, how do i get rid of the bubble algae it came with?

take the whole peice right out of your tank to remove the algae...those bubbes burst and i hear it just pollutes your tank with more algae.....I didnt have any trouble with just picking the bubbles off and throwing them in the trash. The zoos may have attached right to the bubble so it may be difficult to just turkey baster them off.

yea i did that. I started another thread in the general reef discussion and they said try tweezers. So I took it out, took them off with tweezers, rinsed it in a cup of my tank water, then siphoned tank water over it into a bucket. Then i put it back. Hopefully it looks good when i get home today!

If the "stems" of the polyps have a common base, then they are zoos. If the stems do not connect to a common base, then they may be palythoas...be very careful handling them. Yeah, and lose the bubble algae. That stuff will sneak up on you and the population will explode.

as easy as it is and no bigger than they are I would frag them off and pitch that piece of LR in the trash. I dont know how that would work if they are on the bubble algae. if you can get a hold of the mat by a loose corner you could try and gently pull the poylps off & reglue them to a piece of LR from your tank.

just my 2 cents others may say it not needed, me Im not taking a chance on that nasty stuff.
