Default Zoa's for new tank

Tank is new, just starting to stock with fish, seems like zoa's are pretty hardy, will they do well in a new tank?? Any suggestions where to get them??

Yeah go for them! Also mushrooms will do well. JIM or LoweJ might have some for you from their frag tank!

I would be happy to help you out, too bad its cold out now I dont think it would be wise to try and ship from central il to so CAL, with a heat pack thermos or styro foam box it may be possible, I think you can get a 40 hour heat pack. There is a paper towel method might work good, They say its best in extreme heat or cold.

If you check ebay you can get some heatpacks for around a dollar. I think they are the 36hour kind.

I belive usps is around $14 buxx most places 2-3 day, $2-3 for heat pack, + box, Theres $20.00......... Iwould suggest trying to find a active club with in an hours drive or so from you. That is a great way to get a little more info on the SO CAL salt scene + you will meet ppl who have big azz display & prop tanks who will be happy in giving you a free-bie piece or 2

I would do what John says and try to find a local club or better still a good online store. Look at as many as possible until your eyes bleed and then look some more. Their is a wealth of information just on this site alone. Members always place their favorite coral brokers on this site and if you do a search I'm sure you can find one in So Cal. I would also do the local frag swap clubs. Your bound to get some good stuff.

Ordered more CUC from marinedepot live and got a zoa too - shipped overnight, and it;s doing great so far.... I'll add some more later... Thinking of switching to a glass tank - this acrylic one is completely scratched up

sorry about the tank. I had big plans to get acrylic too, but then I realized it scratches too easily.

I didn't realize how easily they scratch. There are some big scratches from when I was putting the LR in and from the mag float etc... I thought I could ignore it, but this is too much work to have a scratchy view!!!

Even one sand particle will really scratch it, and you can't always see that there is sand till it's too late.... (especially early in the morning before coffee !!)
