I found some information on vividaquariums.com says that they need to be placed in the lower half of your tank where they can get current. So they can get trace elements. They also survive better supplementing their diet with the addition of trace elements, marine snow, phytoplankton, and food for filter feeders will help to insure their continued good health. I found it at this link if it shows up.
Vivid Aquariums Tropical Fish Store in Los Angeles - Buy Atomic Green Zoanthids (Zoanthus sp.) - Frag 10-12 polyps:

I just started with a small colony of 20 or 30 Radioactive Green Zoanthids today hoping to have some pics for everyone. These are super bright with a deep green center. Super cool

order online. try diver's den at Aquarium Fish: Tropical Freshwater Fish and Saltwater Fish for Home Aquariums (division of Drs Foster & Smith) or marine depot, etc...... they are packed very well for shipping, and believe it or not, alot of them actually ship from Rhinelander, Wisconsin-only about 2 states away from you!

OK stupid new comer question coming up. If you are sick of these stop reading here!

I am confused so I have to ask. I have a polyp coral, so the LFS guy tells me, and when it is open it looks a lot like a Zoanthid.

So I am wondering are they in the same family? I have looked it up and when I type in one name I get pictures of both types. I would love to get a few "colorful" zoo's to add to my tank. Our LFS does not carry them so does anyone have a online place they purchase them from.

OK it is safe now to read again, dumb beginner question has been asked!

thank you

I have purchased from vividaquariums and they are a great company. A little slow on packaging and shipping but once out the door they are there the next day. I love the zoos that I got rom there. hot pink yellow radioactive green my bi colored parrot leaves them be.

Thank you for the picture! Now I know that I have a button zoo! I love you Yellow Clown Goby! The LFS told me no gobies until at least several months due to the way they feed, is that true?

I have 3; Yellow, Black, Green. Yellow is very bold, eats brine w/clowns and firefish, Black is kinda shy, Green is a recluse. Green must be eating pods since he never comes out to eat when I feed, but his belly looks OK. I see him maybe 3 times a week...I hope he warms up a little and comes out more, his red dots and stripes against his green body are awesome!

YEAH! I have my first zoo's!! I found this at the LFS and was thrilled. It is about 6" long and 5" wide. It has a good group on it and I am hoping it takes off and grows.

I was worried when I first got it home because some of them had not opened yet, but as of yesterday they were all open and happy! I love ZOO's!!!
