if you guys/gals are looking for some AWESOME zoo's, I must suggest you check out Marine Flora!, Your source for Coral and MacroAlgae!

They have some amazing colors and very hard to find items, very fair prices as well.

The owner is Sam and he takes care of his customers !

There are some colors there that are toooo much! If you buy one polyp how long does it usually take to have it grow? Do all zoo's and polyp's get along?
thanks

Jack,
in response to your picture of 6-28-2007.
How are your yellow button polyps doing?
I told you that I don't special feed them, however now that I have several LPS that I taret feed at night, I have noticed that the polyps will grab food that sprinkles on them...I hope yours are flourishing.

ladydragon,
I don't intentionally feed the yellow button polyps, but I do target feed some other corals... with turkey baster from a dollar store. I grind up silver sides, brine, mysis shrimp, clams, add some zooplankton, phytoplankton, etc. or you can buy cyclopeez, etc. and with the pumps off, carefully squeeze it directly into the stomas or openings of those lps corals that must be fed dissolved or suspended organic foods. For those corals that are difficult to feed (polyps won't open up) someone suggested a 2 liter plastic coke bottle with bottom cut out, placed over the coral (on sand substrate) then turkey baster squeezed into top, then screw lid on and hold for a while til it feeds.

I only have several that require intentional feeding, but the yellow button polyps do respond to an occasional meaty offering, such as brine shrimp.

You folks are killing me!!! I am drooling uncontrollably. These are beautiful photographs.

I would love to know the lens/aperture/ISO/speed settings that you used to get your remarkable photos. (Please don't tell me you used a disposable camera from Wal-Mart.)

On the other hand, has anybody tried using one of those disposable underwater cameras??

Thanks to all!

Thanks for the info. I have started giving some of the corals a little extra attention. What I have really found that they like is instead of scrubbing off the algae on the tank I scrape it off. Both the fish and the corals go nuts!!! And it is self growing without having to pay for it! Thanks for the feeding hints!

I have a few more but I can't seem to get a good picture.

Hi C-C

The one frag is doing well the other not so well I dont think it traveled well for some reason it never really came back like it was in your system. also I have a fish that tosses it all over the place I have tried everything wedging it in places but the fish still manages to get and move it where it wants it. I have been a little over due in replacing my lighting.

Here is a short video of my Zoanthid collection. YouTube - Zoanthus de Arrecifemadrid

All the photos were taken in my tanks.

Toward the end you will see a full tank shot of a mono-specifc (almost) Zoanthus tank. I set it up to treat the zoanthids and attempt to erradicate a parasite (Nudibranch). Unfortunatly, of nearly 50 colonies, I lost all but 5 or 6.

If you are going to collect Zoanthus, be sure to quarantine.

Jack Harding, of 6-28-2007and 8-23-2007
How are your yellow button polyps doing? Are they reproducing? Have you tried spot feeding them once a week? Not necessary... but they may propagate faster, as mine do when I intentionally feed once in a while. They expand about 1-3 polyps per week. Is your fish still throwing them around? Maybe you could fix them to a larger rock with a little glue. Mine seem to thrive best mid tank, with a medium flow over them.

I have another two patches of > 20 polyps on shells, whenever you are in the area?
