Default Colors on Zoos?

Can anyone tell me why the zoos at the LFS are usually blah brown and the
ones I see online are very colorful with all different hues.

Maybe the supplier for the LFS only has blah brown ones. Have you asked if they can get other color varieties?

usually because anything brown is cheaper than the brightly colored corals and he may not have the resourses to pay for them not knowing if he can turn them over?

Some LFS don't keep them under the correct intensity of light. There is one that is near me that keeps them under 2 40watt flourescent bulbs . . . and they wonder why their acropora frag beached out. They get some cool fish but coral selection is never amazing, they've never even had zoa's.

Anybody ever buy frags off of EBAY? There are quite a few auctions for them and the colors are wonderful. Some advertise the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). Any suggestions or advise? Thanks

Best advice with that is to make sure they have 99% and better feedback, read through the feedback to see its from other "live" goods that they've sold and to win more then one of there auctions to make it worth while as the overnight shipping is sometimes alot of $$$
