about Reef Builders

Reef Builders is an online community dedicated to reef tanks. Our popular reef blog informs reef hobbyists about popular reef equipment and the saltwater industry in general. We have discussion forums where you can talk about your reef tank, ask questions and receive help from reef community members. If you are just starting out in the saltwater aquarium world, reef aquarists have found that the Beginners Guide to Saltwater Aquariums and Tanks has been helpful in starting their journey towards reef keeping.

Digital Aquatics was kind enough to respond to an earlier report about Reef Keeper elite owners not being happy. Of the issues reported, most if not all of them will be fixed in the coming 1.07 update. That update will be available within the next few days. Also too is a much higher update, 2.0 will be released in the fourth quarter of this year. That update should bring a peace and calm among all Reef Keeper Elite’s worldwide. Most users appear to be happy with Digital Aquactics powerful unit, some were distressed when support was moved to their own support site versus having it on a popular unpopular reef forum. No surprise there as most companies prefer their customers contact them directly versus having them go an extra leap to contact them. So what say you? Are you waiting for the 1.07 firmware update, or are you holding out for that 2.0 update? Let us know and respond in comments.

I would heavily advise waiting for the 2.0 firmware as there will probably still be issues. Don’t be the guinea pig!

I think Ryan is obsessed with Digital Aquatics and their controller. The whole company is not even on my radar.

    Profilux > RKE

The RKE is still a 1/2 baked product that’s being pushed through retail channels and DA.

    Buyer beware.

Unfortunately I only can afford the RK2, but even still I am having issues with the program and support. Think next time will go with Neptune.

Updated to v1.07 and everything is working great. The latest release fixed the touch pad issues I was having.

I’ve made the leap to the RKE,

If you read the manuals it becomes apparent how capable this unit is.

Best of all for me it is Made in the USA.
