about Reef Builders

Reef Builders is an online community dedicated to reef tanks. Our popular reef blog informs reef hobbyists about popular reef equipment and the saltwater industry in general. We have discussion forums where you can talk about your reef tank, ask questions and receive help from reef community members. If you are just starting out in the saltwater aquarium world, reef aquarists have found that the Beginners Guide to Saltwater Aquariums and Tanks has been helpful in starting their journey towards reef keeping.

We know what your thinking, how in the world did CPR aquatic pack a protein skimmer into their new Tower filtration system? What’s more is they seem to be ditching the bio-balls which had been standard for most marine/reef systems. Yes, that is right. Gone. No more, nada. The unit allows for 3 separate types of media, which is actually quite unique considering the system measures 10-1/2″ x 9-1/2″ x 24-1/4″ which isn’t that large. The protein skimmer is powered by the now industry standard needlehweel so you can get those nice smaller bubble sizes and filter aquariums up to 160 gallons. You want a refugium? No problem. Berlin system? No problem either. Sweet. For $400 it can be yours too.
