Well it seems that the once great Reef Keeping magazine has stopped being a professional publication. If you haven’t noticed, the articles are all contributed by members of the forum Reef Central. Gone are the professional authors. However, some larger companies such as Fins, Furs and feathers the parent company of Marine Depot are interested in picking up articles from displaced authors. Has the leadership of Reef Central taken the low road? Does the age old adage of “you get what you pay” for apply? You can decide for yourself and read the thread.

Sounds to me like the big boys are running out of money. From everything I can gather here locally in Atlanta GA, sales are down the worse they have been in the last 10 years for livestock and drygoods. I am thinking this can be translated into lost advertising revenue for our friends at RC. Im sure we will see some great articles written by real aquarists soon if this is the case. I wonder who decides which ones will be worthy and which ones are from aqaurist wannabees?

So what guys? I mean what holy sanctuary is been violated? What is an aquarist wannabe? Maybe everyone besides God? If we were to rely on publishings by, Riddle, Shimek, Borneman, Gamble etc only, there’d be pretty little to read and even less interesting articles. Get a flippin hobby and then enjoy it, don’t turn it into a self-righteous, judgemental way of life. For real!
