GHL/Profilux has dropped their point of entry for theirĀ  controller. Normally a beginner pack would cost you a cool $599 but not any longer. A new price point has been established right at $489 which saves you over 20%. We don’t know if this is the result of the economy or the fact that there is so much stock floating around the United States, but if your over there in Europe reading this you might think about importing a unit to take advantage of the lower point of entry and marginal exchange rate. No complaints here on the lower price, we just want more information on their new ProfiLux III model. You reading GHL?

When I was talking to Todd at Cherry Corals about the price drop, he mentioned that it was a result of a stronger US dollar.

I wish the price for other German stuff would follow suit.

    To clarify,

The price drop was compeltely due to a sudden crash in early December in the Euro, coupled with a lower CAD rate against the USD which enabled USA dealers on our request to offer the controllers at a 20% discount over Christmas. this was a huge success, and we are really pleased our dealers were willing to allow our clients to benefit from this economical glitch.

In regards to a surplus of stock, absolutley not, try finding a dealer with a beginner pack in stock right now ;) we have just placed a huge sea freight order for January to keep up with demand.

PIII info, coming soon now as things get more finalised, but i can confirm we will have the first demo model for Macna which is ahead of schedule by one month.

Harry, I have never charged you $40 for the shipping on a ballast!

$40 for a full Profilux package with insurance is correct.

Don’t forget to mention that item that I shipped for free, remember?

Correction it was $40.00 for 3 Ballast they still are not that heavy.

(I thought by my post it was apparant there were more than one)

    What was that “Free Item”???

Are you talking about the Lab grade probe that I was supposed to get
when I purchaced my profilux but was instead shipped the cheapie one.

Is that the “free” item? Yes I did finally get it but
it was supposed to be part of the original shipment.

It is all a mute point since I switched to a ReefKeeper Elite,
for me the RKE has proven to be a much more capable product
    (and with far better pricing).
