Some of you have been complaining about not seeing images in your favorite RSS reader. This should now be fixed. The reasons were of course because we had a hotlink .htaccess policy. We did this for several reasons, one being that people get lazy and instead of copying one of our images to their mac or PC and hosting it elsewhere. They would simply hotlink or directly link to our images (hosted on our servers) when they were including the image in either a blog post, or forum post for example. This was chewing threw our bandwidth and increasing costs to us as a result. However, you as a community spoke out so we decided to through it out to give you a better experience. How is your RSS reader doing? Let us know in comments.

I use NetNewsWire as my RSS reader and have always been able to view images from ReefBuilders.com via RSS – so no problems on my side. Perhaps it was web based readers that had the issue?
