Looks like the old saying of once you go black, you don’t go back. This can be said of most aquarium controllers on the market, if they aren’t black already then they are in the process of changing them over to black. Aquatronica apparently not liking the old version of their controller which in our opinion looked like a cheap video game has redesigned their master control unit for the better. Besides using more black, the Aquatronica now has pleasing aesthetics in which to lay your eyes upon, also with the redesign it is easier to get to the battery backup compartment. We were wondering why the skimped on the size of the LCD screen? For $1100 for a system setup you think they would have at least doubled the size. Hey, guess it something else to hope for with the next update.

If I remember correctly the Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper2 was the first with the new black look. Seems that everyone likes the way that looked.
