Well what do we have here? We received these spy photos from an unnamed tipster. It appears to be fabled cone skimmer, the one what was first to production but just now making it to market. Behold, Royal Exclusiv’s new cone skimmer. We don’t have many details, but seriously why are you reading this when you could be drooling at the high-res imagery below? Rumors point to the new cone skimmer being powered by one of the newer Red Dragon IIĀ  DC pumps. Pricing is expected to be north of $1000.

    Along with Warner Marine’s K1, this is a cone skimmer that I could really get excited about.

    I guess Klaus is going to pretend that he never said cone shaped skimmers were bad design. “Cone skimmers suck…. Oh hey, check out our new cone skimmer.” ;-)

    Yeah, Klaus must have some new ‘explaination’ as to why now the cone shape works…lol. I think it shows he feels ATB is a threat… stole his #1 spot.

    the DC pump changes the cone into a good skimmer guys, DUH!!!

    it must make the supermarin really special because as klaus has said many times in the past, the full cone is not as good as the double cone.

    who wants to bet those seamless cones have the same dimensions as the SWC cone, Those pictures supposedly of skimmer bodies from 2004 only surfaced after Honya started molding cones….

    Klaus still believes the double cone design works better, these are made for vertex up to their specs.
    I was told by a dealer RE will not be selling these it is all handeled by vertex.

    @Jon

    That’s a pretty brazen comment!

    Don’t listen to those in the nay-say Klaus, it’s pretty obvious to all of us what their ulterior motives are.

    @Nick

    Ditto…

    You have copied our skimmer 1:1.

    You have no own ideas.

    But all people know it.

    Funny thing is, now that they are out, I hear that they cant skim very well at all. Based on the specs I have seen, I can imagine why. I wonder if this RE product also says ‘Made in EU’ but really comes from China just like the RD2’s…

    I just figured it out: Klaus says cones are inferior because every cone HE has made didn’t work right… lol.
