reactorYou’ve probably seen the cimplicity reactor which is great for media. However a new reactor known simply as the simplicity UV-catalytic reactor is a state of the art filtration device that oxidizes organic aquarium waste and then removes the waste byproducts. The photocatalytic reaction utilizes none-germicidal UV light to generate hydroxyl and super oxide radicals on the surface of the catalytic cell. These radicals break down complex organic molecules and completely mineralize them into carbon dioxide, water, and mineral acids. The Simplicity Reactor Media removes the broken down waste, as well as phosphates, silicates, and waste byproducts. The reactor must be used together with the Simplicity Reactor Media (sold separately) to insure the removal of catalytic byproducts. These are appearing in the UK and you can drop £109.99 ($159) on one of these reactors.
