Hamilton Technology has released a new lighting system named Cayman sun. These lighting units feature double ended HQI ballasts in either 150 or 250 watt varieties and sport a nice LED lighting upgrade built in. Cayman Sun features: Multi faceted diamond reflector that helps to provide optimal light output, includes 6 actinic blue LEDs and LED transformer, features a light weight and rust proof aluminum housing with a durable power coated black exterior. Multiple slotted louvers help with ventilation and help to cool the unit which is 12″ x 12″ x 5″ down. The lighting unit is 95% German reflector  aluminum interior.  A 12 foot lamp cord with quick disconnect, a hanging kit and tempered UV glass lens. Retail for the 250 watt model comes in at $379.99.     Hmmm…I’m not sure 6 LEDs will provide enough actinic supplementation to a MH light and I would be worried about heat from the MH burning out the LEDs. High power LEDs do not like to run to hot.
