We received more details about the Apex aquacontroller from Neptune Systems. The Apex is Neptune Systems answered to the Reef Keeper Elite and offers more features than their older AC III pro model.  Some features being tossed around are: Current monitoring, the replacement power outlet adapter (the thing that replaces the DC8) can monitor the current draw of each of the sockets so it can actually tell if something is on or not. Integrates the variable speed outputs of the aquasurf into the main unit so you don’t need a separate aquasurf. The new web server functionality is amazing. Very attractive color graphs that you can mouse over and see pinpoint reports in time or drag and zoom into a particular time range to drill down. Customizable icons and graphics.  Supports the regular Neptune programming language, but also include a new web wizard interface that lets you easily program the controller without learning the language if you so choose.” Pre orders are supposed to start at the end of this month with a retail being around $500.

The capability to “Current monitoring, the replacement power outlet adapter (the thing that replaces the DC8) can monitor the current draw of each of the sockets so it can actually tell if something is on or not. ”

Is not accurate according to early users. There is only total energy bar current monitoring not per-outlet monitoring.
