We just received a photo shot of a new Deltec skimmer, that appears to show a completely new protein skimmer line. The picture supposedly comes from deep within the confines of the master German manufacturer, Deltec which is about as secret about upcoming products as they come. We’ve come to the conclusion that this is a new skimmer line based off the fact that 1) we haven’t seen this protein skimmer design anywhere and 2) the grey and blue trademarks that Deltec uses on most of their skimmers is gone, replaced by white and clear (assuming) acrylic. Upon first glance you’ll notice the trademarked “Deltec” name routed off the top of the skimmer lid, however what has our eye is the control knob towards the lower right that gives us the impression that something will be controlled. Our first guess would be output from the skimmer, and take a look at how big the silencer is! Is this a prototype or production model? Does it use the new bubble diffuser we spied earlier, and what about the rumored new pump design? Obviously, you’ll know the answers to these questions when we do, so stay tuned.
