Seeing a Labroides dimidiatus (cleaner wrasse) spawn on video is nothing sort of amazing. Andy has gotten his cleaner wrasse to do just that and has the video evidence to back it up. How did this happen? Andy gives us his secret: “They were in a tank at the LFS separated by a drilled acrylic partition. They kept coming back to each other without really any aggression or posturing through the divide. What clinched it for me was that one of them was noticeably smaller than the other. I think all wrasses are protogynous hermaphrodites so size is a big deal, socially.” Will Andy be able to get a clutch of eggs and raise them? Time will tell.

Wow. That background noise is really annoying. Sorry about that. I usually leave the sound on my computer off and didn’t realize it was there.

No dice on the eggs yet, though I tried to collect some tonight. Turning the pumps off seemed to through them a little.

    Thanks, y’all!
