deltec-tc-sc-skimmer

When Deltec released their new TC & SC skimmer lines we wondered how their bubble chamber works compared to other high end skimmers on the market. One of the features of  “not using sump water twice” got us curious, as most protein skimmers on the market don’t offer this important feature. Most skimmers re-use the same sump water over and over before the water is then sent off to another part of the aquarium filtration system. Deltec uses a double water chamber, which sounds confusing but it really isn’t. Water is drawn from the sump in the lower chamber and then that same water that has been mixed with air is then reintroduced back into the skimmer through another chamber, which is directly on top of the first chamber on the skimmer. This offers significant efficiency advantages compared to traditional skimmers, something we would be happy to see more of from other companies.

    not using sump water twice-
the effect can archived by using internal skimmer
honestly, I can’t see any innovative ideas in this skimmer
all the ideas already implemented by other companys

    ATI
    BK
    JNS(WM)

furthermore the contact time is very short
and the “ETA” is just a buzz word.
since it totally ignorance the contact time .

902 less air then 702 but perform much better.
I would like to see the new pump on 902 body , I bet it want make more then 900 l.h.

The 2x’s sump water is not true. There is no difference in feeding a recirc before the input or within the bubble plate. Looks to me like wasted area for reaction time. Its a very small reaction chamber there. But lets not act like this is the first time this way has been done. Its been in use for a good while.

I will give credit where credit is due. I’ve been tellin people forever to use the aquabee 5000’s for skimmer pump’s and deltec did a great job there.

Why are they making a very simple device so complicated? Does it come with a cleaning service?

“This offers significant efficiency advantages compared to traditional skimmers…” This is a very bold claim from Deltec considering there are no test results to back it up. So essentially they slapped another bubble plate ontop of another and moved the water inlet down to the bottom…. I fail to see how this would dramatically improve the skimmer’s efficiency.

If they want true efficiency they should have used a smoother body:neck transition (e.g. Cone)

I am rather DISTURBED by these claims. ;)
