The washing machine-sized Bubble King DeLuxe 500 External from Aquarium Specialty is one beast of a protein skimmer. The BKD500ext is capable of drawing over 5000 liter per hour of air while sipping a mere 78 watts: that’s two and a half times the maximum air intake of the Alpha Kone 250 while using only twice the amount of power. A few questions. How much does said slave child cost, do you have a live arrival garauntee, what are the acclimation procedures, and what’s the upkeep…..on second thought……

Id wait on that wattage rating. Many of the BK’s have their wattage listed in the 220v/50Hz version. On the flip side, the air intake also tends to increase.
Wait… so does that mean that these pumps are really efficient, or that the Alpha Kone pumps aren’t? Lol.
The upside with a $5500 price tag and the size of that thing I’m sure that thing would be a good jacuzzi replacement!
