Last week, Reefbuilders had the honor of introducing the hybrid lemonpeel x eibli centropyge angelfish to our readers. The world of rare fish collectors was set ablaze by the hybrid lemonpeel x eibli angelfish which we have affectionately come to call the Tiger’pyge. The Tiger’pyge was sold to the upscale aquarium store, Old Town Aquarium and the fish sold for $1600 within an hour of arriving at the store. Local hobbyist Eric Sanchez of Glassbox Design was fortunate enough to visit the Tiger’pyge at Old Town and he has produced a video of the rare gem of an angelfish which we have posted above. Big thanks to Mr. Sanchez for sharing this video with us and stay tuned to Reef Builders as we document more amazing specimens and rare fish species entering the marine aquarium trade.

The video was taken within hours of the fish arriving at Old Town Aquarium, the supplier must have handled and shipped the fish very well.

That is one beautiful specimen. It was remarkable in still photos and even more captivating in motion! The fish looks right at home.

I believe Blue Zoo was selling this fish for about $70 roughly 2-3 weeks ago
