korallen-zucht-revolution-mini-hang-on-skimmer

For the few people that will purchase a Korallen Zucht Revolution skimmer this year you might want to look at the new hang on back skimmer that just got itself done up with a cone design. The original skimmer (which wasn’t a cone) was powered by a venturi, while this new cone skimmer seems to be powered by another means (needlewheel is our guess). While the design has left something to be desired, this hang on back cone skimmer can easily handle aquariums between 1-1500 liters. You can purchase it for 999.00 €  ($1388) which is great way to rid yourself of the gold coffers you have laying around your house. That entry price will get you the base unit and the included pump which is the popular Aquabee-2000, but the Tunze Silence pump can be requested with the additional upgrade charge to boot.

Update: The skimmer is Beckett powered. Thanks Nick!

Um it’s obvously not a needlewheel, and the old ersion was a cone, do you guys double check the accuracy of your stories?

The only change was from venturi to Beckett and the addition of the tunze pump option.

$1400 for a HOB skimmer! This thing better perform water changes, sound alarms when levels get out of whack, do my floors and fold my laundry to boot. This industry has so many overpriced things, it makes me ill sometimes.

I’ll gladly stick with my less efficient DIY skimmer and enjoy a trip to Hawaii with the savings ;)

I am very keen to try out a skimmer which employs a the beckett air injection technique much like a super venturi skimmer. Aside from downdrafts modded with becketts, the KZ skimmer is the only one I know of that uses Becketts.
