The first shots of the Vertex branded Royal Exclusiv Alpha 300 Kone pop out on the internets.  This Alpha 300 protein skimmer is powered by two  Red Dragon 1500 skimmer pumps that will do between 3,000 to 4,600 lph of air and will come with two aspirator valves like other models in the series. This skimmer will take up a space in your sump of 19″ x 17″ with a height of 27.25″ and retail is expected to hit below $1500, look for it at specialty retailers that carry Vertex products.

    Yes, Royal Exclusiv makes Bubble Kings and the Vertex branded Alpha skimmers.

    I will get a first hand look on this skimmer running on a 600 gallon reef very soon. The tank already uses a dual beckett MRC and it will be interesting to see the competition for skimmate between the downdraft beckett and this top of the line needle wheel cone.
