Mark Poletti is an ardent Reef Builders reader and a friend of the Rb staff. Mark has an inspiring reef aquarium and the necessary photography skills to really show it off. Mark has kindly agreed to share a little about his reef aquarium and some of the fantastic photos he has made of his setup and corals. You can follow Mark’s reef tank on his blog, Reef Serenity.
My name is Mark Poletti and when I was asked to share my tank with reef builders I was honored and happy to oblige. My system is a 180 US gallon starfire display that was designed to house some different exotic corals and fish that are available in the marine hobby of today. I have always been an aficionado of stony corals and the amazing colors they possess. The system is a basic design that is simple and accessible to help me to complete the simple tasks that help our tanks prosper. Along with the hobby of housing corals and marine fish, I have also become more interested in digital photography. Looking at a reef tank through a camera’s viewfinder has increased my awareness of the smaller details of the hobby that I now come to appreciate more than ever. Photography has become a great tool for reef keepers to share their pride and joy since our tanks are spread out all over the world. Follow the link to see some of my favorite photos of my corals, fish and setup.
