S-150

Eshopps has a new economy cone skimmer (S-150) that should be released to the market soon. This is the smallest cone skimmer that has been released by eshopps to date. The economy cone skimmer or known as S-150 will feature a mesh wheel pump with the main pump name has yet to be released. The cone skimmer will handle your tank, so long as it is up to 150 gallons and expected to come with a MSRP of $389.95. The S-150 is powered by a Via Aqua 2300 which draws 450lph while only eating up 23 watts.  The skimmer carries a foot print of 9″ x 8″ and tops out at 21″ with a diameter of 8″.  Another neat fact? The skimmer will have a removable base! You’ll get the same style bubble plate that is in the S-200, eshopps bigger style cone skimmer, we have no ETA of when this product will be available except a “coming soon” sign from eshopps which you know it just lovely.

You gotta love the miniscule footprint of this skimmer. The real telling feature of this skimmer's potential performance will be the pump that was used. Also, the mesh mod may work well at first but it will require frequent cleaning.

Well there already is a CPR pyramid skimmer, called the Aztech, it's actually pretty sweet. Regardless of the cone fad or not, these manufacturers that are making cones are starting to pay a lot more attention to using higher quality water pumps to get the most from their cone designs.
