One of the most popular aquarium controllers on the market is the ProFilux system. The ProFilux III and Profilux III ex have been teasing themselves with shots of themselves for a while now. A lot of things haven’t been answered when it comes to these new aquarium controllers. Like for example what the final model will look like. However, we have received word about pricing for the ProFilux III and ProFilux III ex models which are as follows.

The full Profilux III will cost $599, which includes:

  • Temperature Probe
  • (2) Level Sensors
  • pH
  • (4) 1-10v interfaces
  • USB
  • RS232
  • LAN with built in webserver

The Profilux III EX will cost you an extra $100 which brings it up to $699, but will upgrade you to more options including:

  • An additional Level
  • Redox
  • Conductivity (Salinity)
  • Additional L5L6, 1-10v interfaces

The best part though, we are saving for last. There will be a full color model display that you will be able to order separately that will connect into the ProFilux III systems that is expected to be quite “impressive”. Pre orders are now being taken through either Progressive Reef or Ottawa Inverts.

I haven't been a big fan of the Profillux form-factor (over a wall-mount controllers), but it sounds like they made an otherwise great controller even better. I applaud the built-in webserver. Way to go!

It looks like the same old technology.
I’m glad I dumped my profilux and bought an RKE

The RKE is Far more Capable and Expandable

    Sorry, just the truth.

    Nice try though.

I had a Profilux Pro II it was my worst purchase ever, Way over prices and limited.

I maxed the Profilux out on what I would consider a very simple setup.

The best thing I ever did was to dump the Profilux and buy a Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper Elite.

The Profilux just could not cut it when I went to a basement sump as it requires all the wires
to connect back to the head unit. (probes, pumps, lights, etc)

The RKE with the modern bus system let me split my system with only 1 single wire running from the main display to the sump area.

With the RKE I can hook up far more modules than I could ever use, and at a far better price.

Best of all the RKE guys who make the RKE are reefers as it shows with the useful features, not a bunch of wasted features on the Profilux; ie: storms’ cool for the first few times then you realize it is a silly feature.
