Why is it that we like to put our finger into things and pull out skimmer junk ? It’s a relatively common thing to do. But just to be sure, we are all clear that a protein skimmer skims organic waste, correct? Organic waste being a fancy term for fish poop among other things. Why do we like fish poop on our fingers? Is there some force that makes us do it? I mean it’s the first thing that some of us do when we clean out our skimmers. Perhaps it’s because as kids we were messy? Anyway if you are into that sort of thing you’ll see Deltec’s new iPod white skimmer TC 3070 skim out a bevy of organic waste for you to play with remove.

I hope he is not the sole representative of the new Deltec skimmers. I would wonder why so little skimmate in the cup but it is clear he is not running the water level in the skimmer high enough. It is a shame that he is the only one with one of these skimmers that has a video camera because that skimmer is capable so much more. I would really love to get my hands on one of these for a month to see what it is really capable of. This skimmer has all the features to make it a beast. It just needs the right user.
he skims pretty dry as you can see and it is really a personal preference thing.
