Another new day. Another new skimmer. Like the internal Super Reef Octopus XP cone skimmer, the new external  XP-2000 cone skimmer uses the bubble blaster pump as its internal brother. The internal model sucked up to 1400 lph and we would expect the same amount of air from the new external model. The specifications are a little slim on this new model. We won’t actually know the true performance and value of the XP-2000 external makes until it into user’s hands, you’ll let us know if you get one right? Oh, the internal model has a MSRP of around $400. Any guess as to the MSRP of this new guy? $500?

    With all these cone skimmers coming out from various companies it really makes me wonder if the cone is a great improvement, or simply a small improvement over conventionally shaped skimmers. I always had it in my mind that the pump was the major factor in how great a skimmer was.

    Interesting valve on the outlet. Never seen that type before.
