peppermint-angelfishIt sure looks like the United States will get a Paracentropyge boylei (Peppermint Angelfish) sometime soon. The chaos started with Live Aquaria posting a update on their social networking properties, like for example twitter. The update went like this:

Kevin Kohen reports he is negotiating to bring in the elusive Paracentropyge boylei (Peppermint Angelfish) to the Diver’s Den if all things work out.

For those of you who live in a Cave, Kevin is the fish guy of Live Aquaria. Actually it should be named Kevin’s Live Aquaria as he and his hand picked staff have transformed into a powerful livestock company that features some of the best species of corals and fish. The Peppermint Angelfish should be available through Live Aquaria if all goes as planned, but technically this might be just a teaser to gauge interest of the uber rare species. Consider us interested.

Like Clipperton Angelfish, these fish are rare and demand a high price. While most aquarists in the Asia markets had always snatched these fish up as they were able to afford the $10,000+ price tag, these new peppermint angelfish might be headed to the United States.

This is a very exciting development. If the story was released by anyone else it would just be dismissed but if there is anyone who can pull it off, LiveAquaria and Kevin Kohen can.
