Reef Nutrition’s popular product Macro Feast has been offline for quite some time. Thankfully this product is now back in production and you’ll be able to pick it up from your favorite local pet store. A 16oz bottle of the stuff goes for about $12. Tangs love this stuff.

so, I’m curious, is it “live” enough that it would survive and grow if placed in a refugium?

It’s definitely live Jon. If it’s dead, the bottle smells, the water turns colors as does the gracilaria itself. Some have reported success with propagation but I myself have never been able to get this particular species to grow in my low flow refugium. It prefers high light, to be tumbled just enough and high nutrient levels (higher then most have in their aquariums). Keep in mind this is G. pacifica, not G. parvispora like most hobbyists are used to.

Sounds interesting, I’ll have to pick some up and see what my tang and foxface think of it…like they’re picky ;)
