marineland-heater-stealth-pro-2

Marineland’s new Stealth Pro really wants to warm your tank up this winter. Granted, heater technology hasn’t changed much over the years. Sure, we have seen our fair share of different gizmos added to heaters such as magnets but overall they haven’t changed. This new Stealth Pro from Marineland is about to change everything you know about heaters. Besides having a shatterproof injection molded thermal plastic casing it uses a bi-color LED optic system that lets you know when you’re heater is on (red light) and if the temperature is OK (green light). There is a mesh heating element with a mica core with a epoxy fill that eliminates rattling coils and glass tubes. Another neat feature? The system shuts down when removed from the water, how many times have you busted your heater doing this? That’s what we thought. Stealth Pro is available in several different wattages: 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 watts. We don’t have a MSRP with us right now, but lets be honest…you can afford this.

I’m glad the stealths finally have an indicator light. That was one of the big problems with my tank this spring when the temperatures dropped down to 72ºF only in the night with the heater not showing if it was on, which was a likely cause for some new acropora frags to RTN. With this problem out of the way, I feel confident going back to stealths in the future.

yeah, that indicator light is an important piece that was missing from the previous versions…my last stealth heater got stuck in the “on” position and caused a rapid rise in temperature in my tank. at the time the only way that I new that it was on was by the rise in the tanks temperature and by feeling the unit itself. i’m glad that they’re finally addressing this situation.
