Whether you go to Amazing Aquariums and Reefs to buy or just to look, if you are traveling any distance to attend this weekend’s Reefapalooza event at the OC fairgrounds you ought to visit one of Southern California’s nicest aquarium stores just a few miles down the road. Some have called it the Greenwich Aquaria of the West, in Japan they call it the B-Box of the East but most people simply call it “that store” when they drive by on their daily commute. The video above shows AMAR’s showcase LPS and clam display aquarium with some of the finest grade specimens of Acan lords, Australomussa, Micros, Disc corals and Zoanthids. Anyone who sees either of his top shelf rainbow lords in person will be flabbergasted that these have not been chopped into itty bitty little teeny frags and sold to the highest bidder. That’s because Mr. Atapour loves his corals so much that it makes him cry when he cuts them, he just feels their pain. At AMAR you’ll also see some unique fish such as Flabelligobius, cryptic pseudochromis and some oddball anemonefish species that are few and far between. Their display tanks are also very neat and modern looking, and very much in line with their Japanese Style soft coral reef display. We hear that Mr. Atapour might have contracted the Latezonatus Flu, or L1Z1 for short, so make sure that your younger children have been immunized before you go. Also, AMAR will be having a special promotion for RAP visitors to his store this weekend; anyone who comes in and says “Wide Devil” will get a free turbo snail, while supplies last.

Very nice…….but……..there is a store in Buffalo, NY called “A Reef Creation” that has a tank that easily trumps that. And then about 6-8 more exactly that caliber.
Jeremy, what does RandyO’s store have to do with the flow of people going to attend Reefapalooza in SoCal this weekend?
EVERYTHING!!!!! Ok, nothing. But, from seeing the claims of being the “BBox of the East”, I expected something a bit more….something. At the very least, I can assure you, it is NOT “eye of the Tiger” worthy. Maybe “wheel in the sky”, but there has to be some scaling.
So, if you’re ever going to Buffalo to see the Buffalo Bills lose, be sure to stop by.
And RandyO is really TeenWolf, shaved down.
That’s B-Box of the East from Japan’s POV, duh.
With the Bill’s season so far…I’m glad you have a great store like that locally
Jake, I know what it was referring to, your missing my point. Such a moniker implied I was going to see the most drop dead display ever. I just have seen better thats all. That altitude is getting ya.
Brian, I am a native Buffalonian, but now am in Georgia. But, to me, I feel like the an old battered wife of the Bills. “They cant hurt me anymore”.
Hyperbole: meaning excess or exaggeration) is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.
Well, that’s ghey. How the am I supposed to know if you’re hyperbolizing or simulating?!
Similating. Stupid iPhone.
Ali has a whole lot more than Jake is showing….
LOL, Ali has A LOT MORE corals than just that one tank. That is just a FRACTION of his goodies! One of the best shops for sure…
(please politely quiet yourself), ian.
I can’t believe Alireza is so modest that he can’t speak up, come Al, you can at least say hi.
I’m just messin with everyone
We know you’re serious, I mean, you do have an Iphone Jeremy
Ali’s store is a must see, and I have seen my share around the US
Please politely quiet yourself too, Gresham.
I hope the Ian I told to clam up, is the Ian I think it is……
Anywho, Im just saying, from what Ive seen in this video, its surely a very nice store. I wouldve liked to see more, especially with all the testiments. Is that too much to ask Jake? Get with the program. I now have to go back and read EVERY post on this darned blog to re-evaluate what Jake has said, to decide if its hyperbole or simile.
No worries Jeremy, it’s me
Then I meant what I said, and Im not even sorry.
You rule, brosef.
The good ol’ Alireza has been recovering from the L1ZI. Feel much better now.
Jeremy you have awakened the ghost of Mr. Belvedere that haunts my shop. He wants you to know that there’s 10 or 12 or 13.49 times more acans and other lps in stock than Jakes bomb diggity video. Belvedere is a kind soul though and still offers you tea and crumpets anytime you’re in So Cal. Broski Yoski.
Only 13.49??!! Mehhh.
Talk is cheap. Pics, or it didnt happen. Take care of us east coast slobs.
Hey Ali, glad to hear you are getting over you L1Z1, that’s some nasty fish people flu you got from making out with all the fish baggers on 104th st. Anyway, better get those tanks all cleaned up because the reef builders readership is gonna flock to your store this weekend!
