Trouble-Ad

There has been an advertising ad that has been making the rounds in the print world. The ad asks you “Do You Have Trouble Getting it Up” was printed in CORAL and has been generating a little debate on whether or not Two Little Fishes should run this ad.  Obviously the ad has a sexual overtone, but to be fair there is a lot of that in this industry.

Vortech-MP40

EcoTech Marine while may or may not  be directly referring to anything sexual in nature has a “Size does matter” campaign, comparing their Vortech Pumps to other prop style pumps. While not referring to the “bigger is better” (here smaller is better) it could be taken as a sexual overtone.  Should their be debate about the ad or is this ad “all in good times and fun?”

These ads are suggestive, not offensive. If someone has their mind so much in the gutter that that they can’t appreciate the subtle humor of these ads, that is their problem.

where is this debate at, exactly? looks like a manufactured story for a slow news day.

This is where the debate/poll is going down

I’m glad Reef Builders was able to rise to the occasion and nail this issue before it grew out of control.

It is good to see a company have a little sense of humor. They should run the the add.

it’s inappropriate, i’m actually tired of all the sexual innuendos used in advertising these days. to me it shows a lack of imagination.

Were you at MACNA? The hobby is a sausage fest. I think we can handle some wiener jokes.

“If someone has their mind so much in the gutter ” I think that says it all. I some times work in the ED (Emerency Department) at a hospital, It took a while to get use to that term, I still prefer to call it the ER.

I thought the TLF ad was funny and eye-catching. Maybe people who are offended so easily isn’t the market segment TLF is targeting ;)

These kinds of things do get boring and counterproductive pretty fast though…

This pretty tame/cute stuff for adults and it got attention, so ads were successful.

Efficiency does matter to me. I like the innovative design of Tunze 6105 allowing flow behind pump with large silent impeller. 3400 gph sustainable at 28 watts is excellent when compared to 3000 gph at 45 watts.

I agree with VacavilleFC3S, it’s too easy and shows very little imagination.

after being continuously bombarded by ads for Extenze on TV for the last year or so I hardly see how this kind of thing would surprise or offend anyone…seems rather tame in comparison to many ads that run on mainstream media on a daily basis.
I think a certain percentage of the population is bound to be offended by pretty much anything that extends beyond the confines of prudent ideology. If someone has inappropriate thoughts in response to this ad is it really the advertisers fault? Censor your mind, not the media…

I’m not offended by it, just bored with it. This type of double entendre is just overused in every industry.
