Last year in 2008 we mentioned that Euro Reef was working on an alloy meshwheel of sorts. Back then, we thought like most people do that when a company says their working on something that they will release it. Fast forward 4 months and we received word that Euro Reef has delayed their Alloy meshwheel project. Reasons for this include “The testing is taking longer than we had originally hoped and we aren’t going to rush them to market.” We suppose that is good, but when will our alloy meshwheel needs be filled Euro Reef? Will there be a needlewheel option as well?

Last I heard, Euro Reef was kaput… out of business. When they shut down their distribution network and decided to sell ‘direct’ it ticked off alot of people, and when it didnt work like they had hoped… they came back asking for the companies they once yanked to carry their stuff again. With all the new CoralVue, SWC, and Warner makes pushing old faves like ASM and ER out of the market, this didnt work. They were almost dead, except then SLS was supposed to pick them up and ’save’ them… being the new distributor. But then the market tanked, and Wahoo went under… and Wahoo was what ER used as a line of credit to purchase materials. In a nutshell, I have heard Euroreef is out of business. If the Euroreef guys want to add to this, or if part of it is wrong, be my guest… its all rumors anyways. But many of these ‘facts’ seem to check out.

For your info , all the nano skimmer we have produced so far and will be producing in the future are and will be using our new alloy mesh wheel impeller.

For the larger skimmers, we are still testing different pumps beside the Sedras and the Eheims. Once the choices are clear, the alloy mesh impellers will be made available.
